zhu dezhen is currently chairwoman of deyi capital. she graduated from the department of foreign languages at xiamenuniversity in 1982 with a ba in english language and literature. she also holds a ba in economics from the college of saint elizabeth, an mba from paceuniversity in the

ms. zhu is the founder of the dezhen social course foundation, which sponsors xiamenuniversity students’ participation in academic contests, as well as programs aimed at enhancing students’ practical skills and overall competency.
she joined the china national offshore oil corporation at the age of 30. as she was increasingly involved in negotiations with foreign companies, she realized that language skills alone wouldn’t help her get far. thus, she quitted her job and embarked upon studies in economics and finance in the
u.s.
after obtaining her mba from paceuniversity, she joined the bank of new york and later worked in turn for j.p. morgan, xiangcai securities, china euro international, minsheng bank, and guohe investment. her professional career spans investment banking, commercial banking, and venture capital.
ms. zhu often comes back to her alma mater to share her professional experience and business insights with students. she encourages students to set clear life goals and adopt a positive attitude towards the ups and downs in life, build self-confidence, and lay a solid academic foundation for their future careers.
she said that she had founded the dezhen social course foundation as a way of giving back to her alma mater. “the purpose of the foundation is to create a platform which gives students more equal opportunities and allows them to stand out from the pack,” she said.
